How to Find Your Anonymous User ID

To request data deletion, you'll need your Anonymous User ID from the MealScribe app:

  1. Open the MealScribe app on your device
  2. Go to Settings > App Settings > Anonymous User ID
  3. Click the copy button to copy your ID

Submit Your Deletion Request

Click the button below to open the data deletion request form. You will need to provide your Anonymous ID.

What Happens When You Delete Your Data?

Data that will be permanently removed:

  • AI Processing Data: Text inputs, URLs, and images submitted for AI processing
  • Generated Content: AI-generated recipes and images
  • Error Messages: Any error messages from failed processing
  • Report Descriptions: Content from any reports you submitted

Data that is retained:

  • Usage Tracking: Your subscription usage count (e.g., "45 of 50 jobs used this month") is retained to prevent abuse. This ensures users cannot reset their monthly usage limits by deleting their data. This count is linked to a cryptographic hash that cannot identify you personally.
  • Analytics Metadata: Non-personal technical data (processing costs, AI model used, timestamps) is retained for business analytics.

Note: Data stored locally on your device (recipes, meal plans, pantry items) is not affected by this request. To delete local data, uninstall the app or use the app's data management features.

Processing Time

Data deletion requests are processed within 30 days in accordance with GDPR requirements. You will receive a confirmation email once your data has been deleted.
